The weekly rate rose again. In the past seven days, an average of 2,429 new cases of corona were recorded daily. Last Sunday, that weekly figure averaged 2,304 cases per day.
RIVM announced six new deaths from coronavirus on Sunday. This does not mean that all these people died in the last 24 hours, because sometimes death takes a while.
In Amsterdam, the largest number of people were told they were infected: 234. In Rotterdam this was 151 people, in The Hague 86. In Almere 70 people tested positive and in Utrecht 48.
The number of corona patients in integrated circuits remains roughly the same
There are currently 219 patients with coronavirus in Dutch intensive care units, according to the latest figures from the National Coordination Center for Patient Proliferation (LCPS). This was more than a day ago. On Thursday, the number of Corona patients in integrated circuits reached its highest point since mid-June. Since then, the number has not decreased much.
On Thursday, 220 coronavirus patients were in intensive care, the highest number since June 17. On Friday, the number decreased by 5 but increased again on Saturday. The number of new admissions has decreased in recent days: 21 new COVID-19 patients were admitted to ICs on Friday, and the LCPS reported 10 new IC admissions on Saturday and Sunday. The Coordination Center expects that occupation in integrated circuits will slowly decrease next week.
In the nursing wards, there are 441 COVID-19 patients currently occupying a bed, which is 2 more than the day before. The clinics received 59 new patients with Covid-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus. According to the LCPS, the occupation in nursing wards will also slowly decrease in the coming period.
In total, there are 660 people with corona in Dutch hospitals. The number of hospital beds occupied by Corona patients ranged between 650 and 700 for weeks.
In order to distribute the pressure on hospital care as much as possible, patients are divided between regions. Seven patients were transferred on Saturday.
