Electronic Arts is once again cutting hundreds of jobs. In addition, the game studio has stopped developing an unknown number of games. According to the company, intervention is necessary because the needs of players change.
About 670 people will lose their jobs during the reorganization. This relates to 5 percent of the total workforce at Electronic Arts (EA).
The round of layoffs comes on top of last year’s reorganization. The gaming company also cut hundreds of jobs at the time. EA is known, among other things, for its football game FIFASimulation game Sims And the racing game Need for speed.
According to EA, the layoffs are necessary because players’ needs are changing. That’s why the company wants to focus on other things.
