The Party for Freedom, the Party for Freedom and Democracy, the National Security Council and the BBB are ready to continue negotiating the formation of a new government. The formula is not yet fully clear, but the opportunity is increasing that they will focus on forming a government outside parliament. In such a non-parliamentary government, the National Security Council, like the other three governments, would also be prepared to supply ministers, sources from the parties concerned told NOS.

Next Monday, the Potters and the four sides will sit around the table together for the first time at the de Zwalewenberg estate in Hilversum. So far, Potters has only had one-on-one conversations or spoken to couples. At the beginning of January, these parties also visited this property, then with Detective Plasterk.

The intention is that after Informant Potters’ final report is submitted, no later than next Thursday, the four parties will continue to negotiate with each other about the finer details of such extra-parliamentary government.

Golf clubs confirmed tonight On X That it has not yet reached a conclusion and that discussions with PVV, VVD, NSC and BBB are still ongoing:

Potters is now preparing a final report and the NOS indicates, based on conversations with parties, that there is an appetite for further discussion. Potters still has a few days before his final report. Deadline is Thursday, March 14. “We’re on our way,” Potters said. “We are working step by step.”

Party sources say that the four parties do not want to register many agreements in a strict coalition agreement, so that the House of Representatives would have a greater role. Concrete agreements must be reached on public finances, immigration and the Netherlands’ international role. Sources say ministers could be sourced from political parties, but could also come from abroad.

The formation went smoothly at the beginning of this week. Speculators mainly spoke to party leaders individually or in pairs. The National Security Council continued its opposition to forming a right-wing majority government with the Freedom Party. This weekend, reports emerged about the emotional state in which National Security Council leader Umtsigt will be at the negotiating table.

De Telegraaf, among others, reported this. It is said that Omtzigt would sometimes leave conversations emotionally during tensions. Umtzigt himself said he did not recognize himself in the photo, but said the gossip did not make the conversations “easier.”

But on Wednesday afternoon, suddenly more optimistic voices emerged about the formation’s progress. Both BBB leader Van der Plas and VVD leader Yesilgöz were remarkably positive after their umpteenth conversation in Potters’ office. Van der Plas said she was “positive about it” and Yeseljos used the word “hopeful.”

The four parties realize that despite their differences and discomfort, there is no alternative with the other parties, as confirmed by the sources surrounding the formation. This is also most evident in the National Security Council, which wants to take responsibility for prosecuting the formation of a government outside parliament.

Speculators have now been working for more than three weeks, after the failure of the first formation attempt by his predecessor, Plasterk.
