The first phones to use Google’s most powerful Gemini Ultra model will be from OPPO and OnePlus, the manufacturers announced. Samsung uses Gemini Pro on Galaxy S24; Google itself has the Gemini Nano on the Pixel 8.
The AI ​​functionality is in addition to OPPO and OnePlus’ AndesGPT functionality, both manufacturers say. They haven’t mentioned specific functionality yet, but this may include the ability to create social media posts.
Google also said that OnePlus and OPPO are using Cloud AI services and Gemini Ultra obviously cannot run natively on the phones. The socks on even the most expensive phones are not robust enough to do this. This may relate to functions that require an Internet connection.
Google has Gemini in three versions: Nano, Pro, and Ultra. Many AI functions on phones require an internet connection, as Tweakers previously wrote, and it is not yet known when OPPO and OnePlus will integrate AI functions. It will still happen this year.
