What heft of staking for gevolgen?

  • Hollywood-schrijvers staken nu al tien weken. Hierdoor zijn diverse projecten uitgesteld, zoals het nieuwe seizoen van The Last of Us.

  • Ook acteurs hebben donderdagavond het werk neergelegd. Dat zijn in elk geval de acteurs die lid zijn van vakbond SAG-AFTRA. Zij hebben zo’n 160,000 leden, dus veel bekende en grote namen stoppen de komende tijd met acteren.

  • Ook andere filmwerkzaamheden liggen stil. Ze geven du ook geen interviews, do geen fotoshoots ter promotie van een nieuw project en bewandelen geen rode loopers.

  • Dit kan betekenen dat het heel rustig wordt op enkele grote filmfestivals die aan het einde van de zomer plaatsvinden, zoals het Toronto Film Festival dat gepland staat op 7 september.

  • Het is nog onduidelijk hoelang de staking gaat duren. Veel bronnen in Hollywood denken dat het nog wel even duurt voordat er een overeenkomst is gesloten waar beide partijen zich in kunnen vinden.
