With an extractor hood, it prevents cooking fumes from spreading into your home. Air can be extracted in various ways. This can be done by exhaust air, as the cooking air is sucked out directly. But also by recirculation, as the cooking air is filtered.

You also have different forms of extractor hood, such as a wall mounted range hood, a hanging hood, a range hood in a kitchen cabinet or an extractor built into an induction hob.

The consumer association tests wall-mounted hoods in exhaust mode and in recirculation mode for operation, ease of use and noise, among other things. A total of 26 hoods have been tested, and are currently reasonably available.

Of the 22 wide wall-mounted hoods tested in air exhaust mode, the Siemens model came out as the best in the test. The Bosch range hood is a better buy.

The Siemens range hood is 90 cm wide and therefore suitable for wider hobs. Well absorbed. It absorbs grease well and is good at dispelling steam and odors.

The hood is fun to use. It has 3 modes, boost function and good built-in lighting. With the boost function you can extract very quickly, useful if something burns, for example.

You can turn it off with a delay, so it will continue extracting for a while after cooking. The grease filter can be placed in the dishwasher and indicates when the grease filter needs cleaning. It is also very quiet during operation and consumes very little energy. There are really no downsides, except that it is not always available in stores and is often only available upon request.

This Bosch hob is very similar to the best in the test and it doesn’t score much lower. However, it is a little cheaper. So it currently has the best price-quality ratio.

This range hood extracts grease and odors well. It also extracts steam well, but it’s just a bit less good than the best in testing.

Just like the best in the test, it has 3 positions, a boost function and good built-in lighting. The grease filter is dishwasher safe. It is quiet and energy efficient. More economical than the best in the test.

The disadvantage is that this cap does not have an option to turn it off with a delay. It also does not have any indication of when you need to clean the grease filter.
