Police arrested an 18-year-old high school student in Malmö, Sweden on Monday evening in connection with the deaths of two school staff members. Police said it belonged to two women, about 50, who worked at the school.
According to Swedish media, police received a report of a serious accident in Malmö Latinskola just after 5pm on Monday afternoon. At that time, there were still about fifty people in the school. The suspect is said to have called emergency services and reported his hiding place to the police. He also confessed to killing two people. When the police found him, he was carrying a knife and an axe.
Then the entire school was searched, after which the police concluded that there was no further danger and that the suspect acted alone. The student’s motive is not yet clear. The manner in which the student applied has not yet been released by the police.
