Russia’s state news agency TASS reported that Russia has launched a criminal investigation into US Senator Lindsey Graham for “Russophobia”. An arrest warrant was issued against him.
Republican Graham was in Kiev last week and is said to have made anti-Russian remarks in conversation with Ukrainian President Zelensky. In fact, it is a clumsily edited video that enabled the Russians to repeat his remarks from z“to tear off a bandage;
In an initial video released by Ukraine itself, Graham said there was a time in the United States when people also fought to the death for freedom. So Zelensky says, “And now you’re free. We will be.” Graham replies, “And the Russians are dying.” In another shot, Graham says, “Best investment we’ve ever made.”
The Russian explanation was that Graham called killing the Russians the best American investment ever. However, the full video, which was later released by Ukraine, shows that the two sentences are unrelated. After Graham’s remark about the death of the Russians, Zelensky said: “It’s true, but they came to our lands. We don’t fight on their lands.”
Russia grabbed the video with both hands to attack Graham and the United States. Graham was like that Dmitry Medvedev of the Russian Security Council “Old fool.” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov added that he could not “imagine a greater shame for a country than having such senators”.
According to Graham, “the Russian propaganda machine is running at full capacity”. He also addressed Medvedev, saying, “If you want the Russians to stop dying in Ukraine, withdraw the troops. The fact is that you and Putin don’t care about Russian soldiers at all.”
