Samsung offers a self-repair program in the Netherlands and Belgium, among others. This allows customers to purchase parts and repair kits for modern smartphones and laptops to independently repair their devices.
Now there Spare parts are available For Galaxy S20, S21, S22 series smartphones and the 15.6-inch variants of the Galaxy Book Pro and Galaxy Book Pro 360. From the corresponding product pages, customers can access a repair guide that explains in text and video form how a proper repair has to be carried out.
For the smartphones in question, Samsung sells a replacement glass back, a new USB-C charging port, and a bundled bundle with a new battery and an amoled screen. More parts available for the 15.6-inch Galaxy Book Pro: new battery, LCD screen, fingerprint scanner, cover, touchpad and silicone feet. Same parts available for Galaxy Book Pro 360 15.6 inch, except for the feet. In all cases, screws, glue, and of course any new cover and edges are included.
Moreover, the parts can all be ordered separately or together with the repair kit. For laptops, this add-on package always costs an extra €22.39 and includes a suction cup, tweezers, a PH000 screwdriver and plastic clips for removing the screen. The smartphone repair kit costs €28.44 as standard and contains the same tools plus one heating pad To soften the adhesive behind the screen.
The self-repair program was originally introduced in the United States and South Korea and is now available in the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom. Samsung promises to include more products in the program in the future.
