Microsoft may soon introduce the Surface Laptop Studio 2 and Surface Laptop Go 3. This is what German technology site WinFuture claims. Microsoft is holding an event next week where it will announce new Surface devices.
The new Surface devices will include a new CPU and GPU. Which It claims WinFuture, which often leaks information about Surface devices prematurely. For example, the Surface Laptop Studio 2 will come with a maximum Core i7-13800H CPU from Intel. It is based on the Raptor Lake architecture and has six P cores and eight E cores, for a total of fourteen cores and twenty threads.
The Surface Laptop Studio 2 also gets a maximum of 64GB of Lpddr5x memory and a GeForce RTX 4050 or 4060 GPU for the laptop. There will also be a base model of the laptop, which uses the Xe GPU integrated into the Intel processor. The device also gets a brighter display, according to information from WinFuture, although the size remains unchanged at 14.4 inches. The resolution and refresh rate are also the same, at 2400 x 1600 pixels and 120Hz respectively. The device also retains the unique ‘Dynamic Woven Hinge’, which allows the screen to be repositioned in different positions.
Furthermore, according to WinFuture, the Surface Laptop Studio 2 will feature a USB-A port for the first time; The original didn’t have that. This new port will be available in addition to two USB-C ports with Thunderbolt 4 support. The laptop also gets a microSD card reader, but remains largely unchanged with, among other things, a 58 Wh battery.
According to WinFuture, the device will have a higher recommended retail price. According to this site, the cheapest version will cost €2,249. The model with RTX 4050, 16GB memory and 512GB storage should cost €2,729, while the variant with 32GB memory, 1TB storage and RTX 4060 will have a suggested retail price of €3,199. WinFuture doesn’t have any information yet about the 64GB model, but expects it will cost around €3,700. The technology website says that the device will be released on October 3.
The Surface Laptop Go 3 gets a new CPU, but otherwise remains virtually unchanged
WinFuture also has details about the alleged Surface Laptop Go 3. According to this medium, this laptop remains almost unchanged compared to the Go 2. This time the device will feature a Core i5-1235U processor from the Alder Lake series. This chip will have two P cores and eight E cores, for a total of ten cores and twelve threads. The screen and other features will remain the same. The base model has 8GB of memory and 256GB of storage and costs €899. The Surface Laptop Go 3 is supposed to be released in early October.
