Sony has offered three forms of the PlayStation Plus subscription service. The subscription comes in three variants: Essential, Extra and Premium which cost 8.99, 13.99 and 16.99 euros. The add-on package allows players to download 400 PS4 and PS5 games.

New subscriptions can be used from June, Sony says† The company will keep PlayStation Plus as it exists today, but will rename it to PlayStation Plus Essential. Players will continue to receive two free games per month, cloud storage for game saves and online multiplayer. The price of this subscription remains the same at 8.99 euros.

In addition, two new subscriptions will be available: PlayStation plus Extra and Plus Premium. Extra allows players to download games. You can do so from a selection of 400 PS4 and PS5 games, the company says. Sony has yet to announce the included games, but they are talking about a few relatively recent ones. A PS Plus Premium subscription will also be available for €16.99 per month or 119.99 per year. This will also allow players to stream 340 games on PlayStation 3. In addition, a “catalogue of beloved classics” will be available for both live streaming and download games on the original PlayStation, PS2 and PSP devices. It is also possible to play trial versions to see if the game meets the expectations of players.

The current PlayStation Now bundle will disappear. Users are automatically transferred to a Premium subscription at no additional cost.
