Pictures show ASUS motherboards with Intel H670 and B660 chipset – Computer – News

Images of upcoming ASUS motherboards for Intel Alder Lake CPUs have surfaced. These are models of the TUF, Prime and ROG Strix series with the H670 and B660 chipset. The motherboards will likely be announced during CES.

VideoCardz posted the photos From four unannounced motherboards from ASUS, featuring either the H670 or B660 chipset. This chipset is positioned lower than the current Z690 chipset of Alder Lake CPUs. Among other things, the possibility of overclocking the CPU is missing, although it is still possible to overclock the memory. Leaker momomo_us shared earlier this month Specifications of the alleged slides on Twitter.

VideoCardz displays, among other things, the ASUS TUF Gaming H670-Pro Wi-Fi D4, which supports DDR4 memory. The motherboard box says the TUF Gaming model has a PCIe 5.0 x16 slot. The motherboard also has four M.2 slots. The motherboard shows that these are PCIe 4.0 interfaces. This variant also has six USB Type-A ports, a USB-C port, and Wi-Fi 6 support.

The second H670 is available in the Prime series, and it seems to be put in the low position and also supports DDR4 memory. This motherboard does not have a PCIe 5.0 slot. The Prime H670-Plus D4 also has three M.2 slots, but it’s not clear which PCIe generates this support. The H670 also has seven USB-A ports and a USB-C connector.

ROG Strix B660 motherboards

Furthermore, VideoCardz showcases two B660 motherboards in the ROG Strix series. ASUS ROG Strix B660-F Gaming Wi-Fi has a PCIe 5.0 x16 slot and three M.2 slots, at least one of which appears to offer PCIe 4.0 support. ROG Strix B660-A Gaming Wi-Fi D4 has three M.2 slots and supports DDR4 memory.

The H670 and B660 chipset has been expected for some time, although recently Rumors spread H670 chipset may be canceled. Judging by the leaked images, this does not appear to be the case. Presumably, the new chipset and associated motherboards will be announced around CES in Las Vegas. Intel will hold a keynote with new product announcements on January 4th at 7pm Dutch time. In addition to the new chipsets, new unbreakable Alder Lake desktop and laptop processors are also expected. Intel is also expected to announce its first Arc Alchemist GPUs.
