It turned out on Monday that Africa and Asia could not afford the massive influx of discarded clothes from Europe. Not all EU countries yet have a good system for giving textiles a second life. Erica van Dorn, director of textile processors at Symphony, says that Dutch waste does not end up in Ghana’s waste mountain. However, she recommends avoiding the textile basket for as long as possible. That’s how you do it.
