Omroep Flevoland - News - Delivery drivers will receive half a million euros from BCC, which is at risk of bankruptcy

The two transport companies that closed the BCC distribution center in Almere Buiten on Thursday afternoon will together receive more than 500 thousand euros from the electronics chain. Transport companies Verhuisdeal24 and Verhuisbedrijf Klaver have not received their invoices for months. This is what owner Saadi Ezz from Verhuisdeal24 says.

It became clear on Thursday that BCC had requested a deferral of payment from the judge. Both companies and their employees say they are surprised by the news: “We know nothing about this, even though we have been working for them for years,” says Saadi Ez. He has ten employees who deliver BCC merchandise to the store chain’s customers every day.

On Thursday afternoon, they drove their trucks to the distribution center in Dukkalvueg to speak with BCC, but no one wanted to talk to them. Iz: “They’re actually not cooperating at all. That’s also why we chose to stand here.” Carriers want to know where they stand.

According to BCC Director Kaspar Klinkhammer, this included several charter carriers that performed jobs in the chain and were therefore creditors. “They wanted to seize power to cancel their creditor position, but it doesn’t work that way. Then you have to inform the official yourself,” Klinkhamer told AFP.

Threats
Klinkhammer tells NOS that “about three-quarters” of the country’s 56 branches have not opened, as is the case in Almere and Lelystad. “This has to do with the fact that unfriendly and sometimes threatening situations arise in some unacceptable stores,” employee stories confirm.

The concerned BCC staff informed the management that they did not want to open without security. “In consultation with administrators, we decided to organize security in the stores,” Klinkhammer said in NOS.
