Publisher Nacon shares the first game trailer for the upcoming shooter RoboCop: Rogue City. The game will be released in June 2023 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and for PC via Steam.
In RoboCop: Rogue City, the player controls the titular character, who must secure the crime-ridden streets of Detroit. RoboCop doesn’t just deal with the miserable criminals in the game; He also seems to have internal problems, according to the end trailer† A semi-human and partially robotic client was reluctant to get into a life-threatening situation due to a glitch, something that shouldn’t happen to RoboCop.
This is a theme that was also reflected in the three original films from the ’80s and ’90s. RoboCop, initially an ordinary human named Alex Murphy, is assaulted and killed by criminals before Omni Consumer Products turns him into a superhero robot. On the other hand, his old identity always haunts him.
He also returned as the lead actor from the first two films, Peter Wheeler. The now 75-year-old American actor played Alex Murphy and robotic agent in RoboCop by Paul Verhoeven and RoboCop 2 directed by Irvin Kershner.
The game is being developed by Teyon, a Polish developer who is not making a game based on an 80s action hero for the first time. The company previously made Terminator: Resistance and Rambo: The Video Game.
