MSI is showing its newly designed Stealth 14 Studio and Stealth 16 Studio PCs at CES in Las Vegas. The devices have a redesigned case and an improved cooling system, which also includes the latest components from Intel and Nvidia.
Available in 14-, 15-, 16- and 17-inch sizes, the MSI Stealth Series consists of slim and lightweight gaming laptops. Stealth 14 Studio and Stealth 16 Studio have a newly designed housing, which is made of magnesium and aluminum alloy. The remaining models will be updated with new hardware, but no new housings. Pricing and availability for the new Stealth Series have yet to be announced.
Stealth 14 Studio weighs 1.7 kg and is 1.9 cm thick. The device has a white exterior and black interior, a keyboard with per-key RGB lighting, a 720p camera with facial recognition and a slide to cover it. Inside is an Intel Core i7-13700H processor and up to an Nvidia Geforce RTX 4070, with the RTX 4060 and RTX 4050 options available. To keep components in the compact housing cool, MSI has opted for a cooler with a vapor chamber. The housing houses a maximum of 64GB of DDR5 memory, split across two Sodimm slices, as well as up to a 2TB M.2 SSD. The battery capacity is 72Wh.

On the side of the Stealth 14 Studio are Thunderbolt 4, USB-C, USB-A, and HDMI2.1. The system can be equipped with two different 16:10 ratio IPS screens: one with 2560 x 1600 pixels, 240 Hz refresh rate and full DCI-P3 color coverage, or one with 1920 x 1200 pixels, 165 Hz refresh rate displays full sRGB color space.
The MSI Stealth 16 Studio does not have a dual-tone design, but it is available in a dark blue or all-white version. The device weighs less than 2 kg. As with the 14-inch model, MSI is building the RTX 4070 max, here alongside the faster Intel Core i9-13900H. The cooling system uses conventional heat pipes in a new configuration for MSI, the gpu and cpu heat dissipation are not with 99.99Wh, the battery has the maximum possible capacity allowed on board.
The larger housing provides room for two M.2 slots and two module slots, while expanding connectivity compared to the smaller model with a microSD card reader. In this case, the webcam is a Full HD model, as well as slider and face recognition. There is a choice of a 4K IPS display with a 120Hz refresh rate or a 2560×1600 IPS display displaying 240Hz, with full DCI-P3 coverage and a 16:10 aspect ratio.
