Meta plans to launch a Twitter competitor this summer. Bloomberg wrote this based on conversations with insiders. Social media marketing specialist Lia Haberman claims it will be a decentralized platform and showcases an alleged marketing chip.
Tell the sources against Bloomberg This Twitter competitor has been testing with celebrities and influencers for months. It should be a separate app, but users can link their Instagram profile, so that the followers transfer automatically. Any banned words and accounts have reportedly been moved.
says social media marketing specialist Leah Habermann in its newsletter To receive additional information about the app from the content creator. According to them, it will be a decentralized platform that will provide integration with other similar networks, such as Mastodon. This will include the ability to see and interact with posts made on that platform in the Meta app. It was previously speculated that the Meta platform, like Mastodon, would use the ActivityPub protocol.
Users are allowed to enter up to 500 characters per post and attach videos up to five minutes long, according to Haberman. In addition, it will also be possible to add links and images to posts, and users will be able to like, repost and comment on other people’s posts. While Bloomberg was only told that the app would appear “in the summer,” Habermann claims it could be released as early as next month. It also shows an alleged marketing slide with two screenshots of the app.
