Singer and actress Heidi Lester passed away on Sunday evening, at the age of 72. Lester, who participated in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1977 on behalf of the Netherlands with the song Male milldied at her home in Amsterdam from bladder cancer.
Her brother, singer Frank Affolter, announced the news of her death on Tuesday The telegraph. “I fought the disease a lot,” he says. “At first it seemed like it was going in the right direction, until a few weeks ago it turned out that the cancer had also affected her liver.
