Intel provides Arc GPUs to manufacturers, but offers few details – Computer – News

Intel began making its Arc GPUs available to laptop and PC manufacturers. According to Intel, fifty laptops and desktops with Arc GPUs will soon be released. Intel has yet to announce details, specifications, or pricing for the GPUs.

According to Intel The 50 designs come from manufacturers Acer, ASUS, Clevo, Dell, Gigabyte, Haier, HP, Lenovo, Samsung, MSI and NEC. It concerns both mobile devices and desktop computers, which will be equipped with Intel Arc video cards. Intel has yet to say when the products will be on the market.

During its keynote at CES, Intel showed off an Alienware X17 laptop and a convertible Lenovo Yoga that will come with an Arc GPU. However, it is not clear what GPU is in it. Intel’s first-generation Arc graphics cards will be called Alchemist, and rumor has it that there will be plenty of variations, ranging from entry-level models that offer similar performance to high-end Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 graphics cards to deliver RTX 3070 performance.

Intel Arc GPUs support hardware ray tracing and Intel Xe Super Sampling technology. XeSS is an analogue of Nvidia’s DLSS and AMD’s FSR, for upgrading games. Intel, in partnership with 505 Games, has announced that the PC version of Death Stranding will be the first game to support XeSS.

In addition to 505 Games, Codemasters, EXOR Studios, Fishlabs, Hashbane, IOI, Illfonic, Kojima Productions, Massive Work Studio, PUBG Studios, Techland, Ubisoft and Wonder People are integrating XeSS into their titles. This year, Intel says XeSS will be available in a “wide range” of games.

Intel is revealing a little news about Arc video cards at its CES presentation. The manufacturer previously said that Arc GPUs should be on the market from the first quarter of 2022. The manufacturer is now only talking about systems integration. It is not yet clear when discrete video cards with Arc GPUs will appear.
