Nabu Casa, the service behind the Home Smart Home Assistant platform, increases cloud subscription prices to 7.50 euros per month for European users. There will be a cheaper annual subscription.

Nabu Casa writes in an email to users that European subscriptions are also being fixed. For the first time, it will be possible to pay for the subscription in euros. Previously, a monthly subscription to Home Assistant Cloud cost $5 per month. Converted to Euros inclusive of VAT to 5.61 Euros. For European users, subscriptions will be automatically converted to a European subscription from 1 August. This will cost 7.50 euros per month. Users can now get an annual subscription for the first time. This costs 75 euros per year.

The option to pay with PayPal will remain the same. Nabu Casa does not write anything about the possibility of paying with iDeal.

The company then said it would not offer PayPal as a payment method, but would revert to it “after comments”. Nabu Casa is the company that makes Home Assistant. With a subscription, users can access their Home Assistant installation via the cloud. This is not mandatory: many users also use their DNS settings for this. Nabu Casa also has many subscribers who would like to support the project financially.
