Oscar-winning director Guillermo del Toro said he doesn’t think he’ll ever play another game.
Game Spot Reports indicating that del Toro appears in Happy sad podcast He confirmed that he is not working on projects related to Silent Hill. This question came after del Toro walked out at the Game Awards where he said he loves the art direction of Silent Hill and hopes to get a new one soon.
He says he likes the idea of games as an “exercise in storytelling,” although he doesn’t think he’ll “never develop a game again because [hij] Albatross for video games”. Del Toro said the same in 2015 It seems that he will keep his promise.
He also briefly mentions the canceled Silent Hills project he was working on with Kojima.
“It’s just one of those things in my life that just don’t make sense,” del Toro says. “I really just wanted to tickle Konami’s ribs because I don’t understand. That was perfect, what we were going to do was very exciting.”
Silent Hills was announced after the release of PT, a horrific gameplay experience that turned into a teaser for del Toro and Kojima starring Norman Reedus. The game will never see the light of day and Konami removed the PT from the PlayStation Store in 2015.

While there are plenty of rumors about a new Silent Hill game, nothing concrete has been announced yet, but Silent Hill creator Keiichiro Toyama announced a new survival horror game called Slitterhead at The Game Awards 2021.
