Google introduces an online tool to monitor land cover on Earth – IT Pro – News

Google introduced Dynamic World, an online tool that provides detailed and up-to-date information about Earth’s land cover. With Dynamic World, ecosystems and changes in the Earth’s surface must be better monitored.

Online Tool Developed by Google Earth Engine and Google’s AI Platform, it provides scientists with the ability to take a closer look and observe our planet’s land cover. Nine different classes of land cover are distinguished: water, flooded vegetation, built-up areas, trees, crops, barren ground, grass, scrub and ice. Google states that it can use artificial intelligence to indicate which land cover is on every ten meters of the map.

The tool is updated every two to five days with more than 5,000 satellite images from the Copernicus Sentinel-2 satellite.
