Game developer Heart Machine has announced the indie game Hyper Light Breaker. The 3D RPG is set in the same universe as 2016’s Hyper Light Drifter, but it’s not a successor to that game. Hyper Light Breaker is scheduled to release in the spring of 2023 via Steam Early Access.

Unlike Hyper Light Drifter, the new game is 3D rather than 2D. However, the visual style of the game will be very similar to that of the Hyper Light Drifter from 2016. The game takes place in the same universe as that game, but in a new world called Overgrowth.
