The FIA concluded that the new evidence presented by the Haas team was neither ‘new nor sufficiently significant’. Claimed right of review with respect to United States Grand Prix results denied.
Almost two weeks after the conclusion of the United States Grand Prix, reports emerged that the Haas team had protested the end of the race. The focus was mainly on the Aston Martin, Red Bull Racing and Williams teams, which according to Haas often exceeded track limits in Texas. American Racing Stable applied for a review franchise. This may be in violation of Article 33.3 of the ‘International Sports Code’. This is especially true of the cars of Alexander Alban, Sergio Perez and Lance Stroll.
Hearing
The FIA has scheduled a hearing for Wednesday, November 8, to consider whether Haas’ evidence is ‘new and significant’ in order to schedule a second hearing and determine whether a fine should be imposed. It also includes new images that weren’t available during the race, according to Haas. However, the stewards did not reach a decision on Wednesday and then adjourned to Thursday, November 9 at 3:00 p.m.
Now comes the redeeming word: Haas’ request for a right of review has been denied, according to recently released FIA documents. The pictures submitted by the race committee were rejected by the officials as not new or important.
