Rescuers in Nepal are still searching for two buses carrying more than 50 people. The buses disappeared yesterday after a landslide into a river. The body of a man has been found.

About 500 rescue workers, soldiers and police teams have been searching for victims for two days, with no results so far. Rubber rafts and sensor equipment are being used in the search.

The man’s body was found about 50 kilometers from where the buses fell into the river. Because of this discovery, rescuers are expanding their search area. Local authorities say the chances of finding survivors are slim.

cloudy water

The search was initially difficult because the roads were impassable due to the landslide and the river water was very cloudy due to the landslide. Due to the heavy rains in the past few days, the water was flowing in the Trishuli River very fast.

Rescue workers are searching for survivors.

The weather has now cleared and the river level has dropped. Heavy equipment has been able to partially clear the road, making the area easier to access.

Three people survived the accident and were taken to hospital. It is not clear how they did. According to some media, they managed to jump off the bus in time, but other media reported that they were thrown from the bus.

Following the incident, Nepal’s Home Ministry has banned other buses from operating at night in areas under weather warnings.
