Heavy weapons arrived from Germany

Ukraine received new heavy weapons from Germany to be better equipped to fight the Russian army.

Using these precision weapons, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry says it has succeeded in eliminating several Russian military targets in recent weeks.

Zelensky replaces the leader in eastern Ukraine

President Zelensky replaced a commander in eastern Ukraine. Since August 2020, Hrihori Hallahan has commanded specially trained military units fighting pro-Russian separatists and the Russian army in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

The reason was not revealed. Kyiv Independent Reports that special forces are conducting reconnaissance missions and covert operations behind enemy lines.

In eastern Ukraine (the Donets Basin), the Ukrainian forces suffered heavy losses. Donetsk and Luhansk regions, where fighting has been taking place since 2014, are now largely in Russian hands.
