It looks like Sony has put up a billboard for its Xperia 1 V smartphone in Hong Kong early. The announcement shows that the manufacturer will emphasize the new technology of camera sensors.
Reddit user LOL5552 Mock the bulletin boardbut also Sumahodigest appears to have seen the ad. The Chinese text in the image indicates that Sony will emphasize the new technology for the cameras.
It is a Lytia sensor with separate pixel layers. The sensors differ from current models in that the transistors and photodiodes are first separated at the pixel layer. As a result, more surface area is available for photodiodes, so pixels with the same surface area can capture more light. The transistors are in the new setup behind the diodes. This camera is also present in the Xiaomi 13 Ultra.
Earlier a rumor surfaced with some specifications of the phone. The Xperia 1 V will have a flat 6.5-inch display like its predecessor, but the casing will be slightly smaller. Where last year’s version had dimensions of 165 x 71 x 8.2 mm, the 1 V measures approximately 161 x 69.3 x 8.5 mm, a headphone jack, a shutter button and a Power with a fingerprint reader, among other things, have not changed from its predecessor.
Sony has set an event for next Thursday, May 11th, to announce the phone. The Xperia 1 is the manufacturer’s top model and the 1V is the fifth generation.
