Battlefield 2042's danger zone: what is it? | News

Hazard Zone is a brand new game mode all about stealing valuable data engines. In 2040, there was a global blackout that reduced the number of satellites by 70 percent. Small temporary satellites are used to replace those satellites. These satellites collect images, heat maps, identity scans and other valuable information. After the small satellites are also shot down, it’s up to you and your team to collect them.

Play the game mode in a team of four players. All members must choose another specialist. On Xbox One and PlayStation 4 you play with 24 players and on Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5 and PC with 32. All the maps from All-out Warfare are also in the danger zone. At launch, these are Kaleidoscope, Manifast, Orbital (known from beta), Discarded, Renewal, Hourglas and Breakaway. At random times, a giant tornado rages across the map. There are also deadly occupying forces. These two elements make achieving the goal more difficult.

But what exactly is this goal? How many people you remove is completely irrelevant. In the danger zone, it’s all about collecting as many data drives as possible. There are twice for each bet in which players can turn over drives to escape from the danger zone. These moments occur at random times in different locations. Two teams can get out of the area alive. However, it can also happen that absolutely no one is able to hand over the data.

The data engines presented have more value. Every data engine you turn over turns into a form of money called dark market balances. These coins can be spent on weapons, gadgets and tactical upgrades for each pot. Fifteen of these upgrades will be available at launch. For example, you can start with twenty percent extra armor, fifty percent extra credits, or the ability to heal faster.

Each game has five stages. In the first stage, you prepare for battle. You choose your specialist, spend your credits, and decide where you want to go. In the second stage, you will be dropped where you want to land. From stage 3 it gets really serious. Then you go to search for data engines. You can use a special scanner to find out exactly where they are. New drives also fall from the sky as you play. The fourth stage is the first opportunity to turn over the data and escape from the area. Any spot on the map is designated as an extraction area. If you decide not to go to that area, you will have one last chance in the fifth stage. The remaining teams fight for the last chance to escape. Even if only one team member manages to escape, everyone gets rewards.
