A kangaroo escaped during transport in Canada on Thursday. After roaming freely for the weekend, police officers were able to capture the animal. When they did so, the kangaroo punched one of the officers in the face.
On Thursday evening, the kangaroo escaped during a transportation operation from Oshawa to Quebec. This happened when the transporters wanted to move it from the truck to the local zoo so that the animal could spend the night there.
“Then she jumped over her keepers and ran away,” the Oshawa Zoo keeper said. CBC Toronto. Oshawa is located more than 50 kilometers from Toronto. Because it was dark, it was impossible to see where the animal had gone.
Do not hold the animal without a fight
Several residents then spotted the kangaroo hopping in and around Oshawa, but police officers were unable to sneak up on the animal until Monday morning.
On the advice of the rangers, the officers captured the animal by grabbing it by the tail. This approach was successful, but it was not without challenges. During the arrest, the kangaroo managed to punch one of the officers in the face.
The kangaroo was cold and a bit hungry, but unharmed. The animal is now at the local zoo for several days until it is ready to resume its journey to Quebec. The officer also wasn’t too bothered by the incident.
