What was supposed to be an amazing dive ended in the death of a 26-year-old tourist in Mallorca. The man dived out of nowhere in front of his girlfriend from a 12-meter cliff into the sea. However, he miscalculated and fell on the rocks.
Spanish media reported that the 26-year-old man from California was vacationing in Mallorca with his girlfriend. On Saturday, the couple visited Cala Varquez. A beautiful bay with one of the most beautiful beaches in Mallorca, where tourists enjoy white sand and turquoise crystal clear waters, surrounded by grottoes and stalagmites. This paradise environment encourages many people to dive from the rocks into the sea.
The American reportedly ventured on such an amazing dive quite unexpectedly on Saturday. But he misjudged his jump and landed headfirst on rocks 40 feet below.
The victim continued to float passed out in the sea. A small boat, which was nearby, rushed to the place and carried the injured tourist to the shore. By that time, the police and emergency services were already waiting, but there was nothing they could do for the victim. The 26-year-old died at the scene.
According to the local media, dozens of accidents happen every year in Cala Farcs and especially in the surrounding rocky area. It often happens that people miscalculate their jump.
