That opportunity certainly existed, it was also one of the reasons the 5600X3D Microcenter was exclusive at launch and I believe it still is. The fact that it takes a long time to release a lower fund is also a sign, so building the inventory has taken a lot of time. Whether the stock will be significant is certainly the question.

However, I wonder how interesting this Sku will be at this price. The AM4 is actually only interesting if you’re already using it and want to upgrade, or if you’re on a very low budget. Hardware Unboxed recently had a segment about this on their podcast https://youtu.be/B8W-iCcjKLQ?t=120 . I think the 5700X is too expensive for the latter, and for the former, I wonder how much of the market still wants a mid-range Sku and doesn’t just get the 5800X3D for a few extra bucks to get the most out of the platform. If the difference between the 5700X3D and 5800X3D was GPU class, I would rate the 5700X3D higher than I think I do now. The 5800X3D still sells well at the factory, for example, but I don’t know yet if the 5700X3D will take over that market.

For example, I think the question would also be how easy it would be to run an all-core 5700X3D at -30 CO2. I’ve yet to encounter a 5800X3D that can’t do this in a stable manner, and that’s very good for heat development. Because even though the 5800X3D is very efficient, if you run it stock it will still be difficult to cool in some workloads, for example, my temperature easily reached 90°C in stock with a good Noctua cooler during some basic load tests. With -30 CO2 in all the cores, that was much lower.

Whether -30 CO will also work on (almost) every 5700X3D is the question of course, it wouldn’t be less important for nothing.
