ADP: US job growth slightly slower than expected

(ABM FN-Dow Jones) U.S. private sector employment grew slightly less than expected in February. This was revealed on Wednesday from figures from payroll processor ATP.

The number of jobs rose by 140,000 after a correction of 111,000 a month earlier. It was first reported that 107,000 jobs were added in January.

Economists had expected an increase of 150,000 jobs in February.

Wages rose 5.1 percent year-on-year in February, following a 5.2 percent gain a month earlier, the report said. The number of employees who changed jobs rose by 7.6 percent.
