The number of Corona patients in the interim centers increased by six, to 155 in total. On Sunday, 1,776 people will be infected with Corona virus in nursing wards, a nineteen increase from Saturday.
During the past 24 hours, 167 new patients with corona were admitted to the nursing wards. Fourteen patients with corona were brought on integrated circuits. Those numbers were even higher on Saturday: Then there were 226 new admissions to nursing wards and 17 to intensive care units.
Some patients who initially tested positive for the virus were admitted for a different reason. After a corona test is done, it happens to be positive. The LCPS does not distinguish in hospital daily numbers between patients admitted because of or because of corona.
Positive tests are declining
The National Institute of Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) recorded 25,013 new cases between Saturday and Sunday morning, compared to 28,122 cases the previous (adjusted) day.
The number of positive tests has also decreased in the previous days. For example, it was still at 35,019 on Friday, 39,195 on Thursday, and 42,794 on Wednesday. The weekly average fell further on Sunday to 34,651 from 36,048 on Saturday.
Amsterdam leads the top five among the municipalities with the highest positive tests. There, 1,079 new infections were identified. This is followed by Rotterdam (807), The Hague (654), Utrecht (438) and Apeldoorn (336).
RIVM has received six reports of people who have died of coronavirus infection. The fact that they have been reported now does not mean that the deceased died within the past day.
