Here’s what we know

Tooling and test equipment are purchased for contract with the US Air Force as needed to increase production. Work will take place in Orlando, Florida, and is expected to be completed by December 2027.

The development follows reports that the Biden administration is considering arming Ukrainian F-16s with a JASSM air-to-air cruise missile capable of striking targets up to 370 km away.

The LRASM missile is a stealthy, long-range anti-ship cruise missile. It is designed to attack high-priority naval targets such as aircraft carriers and missile ships at a range of 200 nautical miles (370 km).

The AGM-158 JASSM is a precision air-to-air cruise missile. It is designed to attack critical, highly protected fixed and moving targets in all weather conditions and at any time of the day, from a distance beyond the range of enemy air defenses.
