PUBG Publisher Krafton Acquires Hi-Fi Rush Developer From Microsoft – Gaming – News

Krafton has acquired game developer Tango Gameworks from Microsoft Xbox. The South Korean publisher will take over the Japanese game studio’s staff and own the rights to the Hi-Fi Rush IP.

Crafton writes press release It will work with Microsoft and ZeniMax to manage the acquisition. This is supposed to ensure continuity at Tango Gameworks and ensure that current employees can continue working on the Hi-Fi Rush-IP and other future projects. The publisher believes the acquisition will not impact Tango Gameworks’ current game catalog, but has yet to make any new announcements about games.

Tango Gameworks is a Japanese game studio founded in 2010. The developer released the horror game The Evil Inside in 2014, followed by The Evil Inside 2 in 2017. In 2021, Microsoft acquired parent company ZeniMax and Tango Gameworks became part of the American tech company’s gaming division: Xbox. Shortly after, in 2022, Tango Gameworks released the action-adventure game Ghostwire Tokyo, followed by Hi-Fi Rush in 2023, a critically acclaimed rhythm-action game. Microsoft decided earlier this year to shut down Tango Gameworks, along with several other development studios, such as Arkane Austin and Alpha Dog Studios, that it had acquired in previous years.
