Tuxedo Announces 3-in-1 Linux Laptop

Tuxedo Computers has announced the InfinityFlex 14 Gen 1. This 3-in-1 laptop comes standard with Linux and can also be used as a tablet or standalone touchscreen. The base configuration costs €1,209 and is expected at the end of September.

For that amount, users can start with a 14-inch touchscreen display, which combines a 1920 x 1200 resolution with a 60Hz refresh rate. Under the hood is an Intel Core i5-1335U processor with 10 cores and 12 threads. The Tuxedo doesn’t offer a discrete GPU. The processor is paired with 16GB of RAM and 500GB of storage on an NVMe PCI-e 3.0 SSD.

Infiniti Flex 14 It measures 316 x 20 x 229mm and weighs 1.5kg including the 55Wh battery. Connectivity consists of HDMI 2.0 and USB-A, followed by Thunderbolt 4 and USB-C with up to 100W of power. A 3.5mm combo and a microSD card reader are also included. In terms of wireless connectivity, WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 are supported. There is also a 2MP Full HD webcam and a privacy switch. This can turn off the webcam and microphone.

The laptop comes standard with Tuxedo OS, which is based on Ubuntu with the KDE Plasma desktop environment. The company also offers the option to install other operating systems like Ubuntu, Kubuntu, and Windows 11.

According to Tuxedo’s website, the necessary components will be in stock as of September 16. The manufacturer promises to assemble orders within two weeks if there is stock.
