In 100 games so far this season, Paredes has hit 16 home runs and 55 RBIs, with a .247/.355/.438 batting percentage. He also made his first All-Star game with Tampa.

Paredes will remain under team control for three more seasons, earning $3.4 million this season with Tampa.

Morrell hit 18 home runs and 51 RBIs for the Cubs this season, posting a .199/.302/.374 batting average in 420 total plate appearances.
