Donald Trump made his first public appearance since the Pennsylvania attack. He appeared during the first day of the Republican Convention in Milwaukee.

Trump entered with a bandage around his ear. He was shot in the right ear in the attack in Pennsylvania. The former president received widespread applause from fellow party members while singer Lee Greenwood God bless the United States of America Sing. Trump clenched his fists again, as he had done when he was led away by his security guards after the attack.

After the first day of the meeting officially ended, Trump walked past part of the crowd under heavy security and shook hands with a number of supporters.

He will address the crowd at the convention on Thursday and accept his nomination as the Republican presidential candidate. Trump was formally nominated as the Republican presidential nominee earlier today in Congress.
