LANSTUHL – Early Friday morning a serious traffic accident occurred at the Landstuhl intersection, in which the driver received minor injuries.

The 59-year-old driver drove his tractor trailer on the German road A6 towards Saarbrücken and wanted to get to the A62 motorway towards Trier at the Landstuhl junction. However, he began to slide due to the rain-soaked road surface and inappropriate speed.

The truck broke through the guardrail and stopped on the other side of the road. The car thus blocked the entrance to the A62 motorway towards Trier and Pirmasens.

The driver appeared to have minor injuries and was taken to hospital by ambulance as a precaution.

Upon recording the accident, it was revealed that there was an arrest warrant against the 59-year-old driver. Because the driver could not prevent this by paying the fine, his path after leaving the hospital led not to freedom, but to prison in Frankenthal.

Due to extensive damage to the crash barriers and difficulty recovering the trailer, there will likely be significant disruption in the area around the Landstuhl Highway intersection until early Friday evening.
