The three men escaped from a prison on the Caribbean island of Grenada last month. Police suspect that she has something to do with the disappearance of an American couple: Ralph Hendry (71 years old) and Kathy Brandel (66 years old).
He hijacks a sailing yacht
The American couple had anchored on the island with their catamaran – Simplicity – where they wanted to spend the winter. Their boat disappeared and was found by a sailor off the coast of St. Vincent Island. The sailor called the Coast Guard and the police, and on the same day the three escaped prisoners were captured on that Caribbean island east of Curaçao.
Police already had indications that the three had boarded the boat and hijacked the yacht. They now report that the suspects, aged between 23, 25 and 30, have also been formally charged with murder. American media.
Shortly after Hendry and Brundle’s yacht were found, police said they presumed the two American passengers were dead. Their bodies have not yet been found, and the Coast Guard is still searching the sea between Grenada and St. Vincent. The distance between the two islands is more than 150 km.
