The airstrikes were carried out in response to attacks on Americans and US allies in Syria and Iraq.
According to the United States, the three targets were a training base, a storage facility for missiles and drones, and the headquarters of the Shiite movement al-Muttab Hezbollah. According to the Pentagon, the affected facilities are used by other militant groups.
On Saturday, an Iraqi security officer and four American soldiers were wounded when rockets hit Iraq’s Ain al-Assad air base.
The US military said the attack was an Iranian-backed attack by militants in western Iraq. After the war in the Gaza Strip, US targets in Syria continue to be attacked.
900 troops are stationed in Syria and 2,500 in Iraq. Attacks on US targets are seen as retaliation for US support for Israel in its war against Hamas.
