Florte Diessing has cut off contact with her brother Johan Diessing because he is an activist in the Forum for Democracy and is on the electoral list for the House of Representatives elections. “A sad note, but true.”
The fact that Johan became active in the Forum for Democracy caused a break in contact between him and his sister Floertje. “I no longer have any contact with Floertje,” Johan said in a conversation with the weekly Story magazine. “I’ve always said I think it’s important to keep talking to each other, and I tried that, but I noticed it didn’t work.”
‘sad’
At some point, the forum took certain positions with which Floertje completely disagreed. Then Floertje said: “If you don’t distance yourself from this now, I won’t know you as my brother anymore.” This put our bond on the brink.
Johan then tells his sister that he still supports Forum’s positions, but they can continue to respect each other. “At a certain point that is no longer possible. This is a sad statement, but it is true.”
Christmas without each other
Johan and Florte will not sit together at the table at Christmas. “We celebrate Christmas without each other, but this is not the first time. The process of removal has been going on for some time,” Johan explains. Parents Chris and Marianne are struggling with the situation. “They find it very sad, but there is not much they can do to change it.”
