GTA V is ten years old – Games – .Geeks

Few games have had as much cultural impact as Grand Theft Auto. For a game with this impact, it’s remarkable that a sequel wasn’t announced right away, but that has something to do with GTA V’s massive success at the box office. This game was ten years old this week.

Grand Theft Auto V was released on September 17, 2013. Upon release, it was a game for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. Developer and publisher Rockstar Games took a unique direction with the seventh installment in the series; Instead of a single main character like Niko Bellic, CJ, or Tommy Vercetti from previous games, players had to control three characters in the main story, set in a Los Angeles-based environment. Franklin, Michael and the unstable Trevor take turns with many unique skills and in addition to individual missions, you also had to carry out bank robberies together. The game quickly became one of the most popular games in the series. Later, remastered versions were released for next generation consoles, which again sold widely.

But while previous consoles like the PS3 saw many GTA games, GTA V saw many consoles. There was a remaster for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and now there’s also a remaster for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S that’s still unknown.

This has a lot to do with the huge success of the online component, which was added for the first time in Part V. It turned out to be so valuable that Rockstar continued to focus on it and released new content such as cars, missions, and weapons. Rock star Thanks for Twitter All the players for their support “over the years”. It’s indicative of the game, which has been played for years by a cutthroat group that also likes to pay for it in microtransactions.

It is not yet known when a successor to the game will be released. It is also not yet known whether this game will have a story in the first place or if it will definitely not be an online game. If V’s success becomes a guiding principle, this is unthinkable.
