Small update for Chromecast with Google TV

If you have a Chromecast with Google TV or an HD variant, you can now download a new firmware. The program with batch number STTE.230319.008.H1 is about 60MB in size, which is relatively small. The upgrade dongle is usually much larger, so don’t expect big changes either.

An exact changelog isn’t available yet, but some bugs have basically been squashed. The performance of the smart device has also been improved, which makes it work even better. No remote control improvements are included in this update.

More about Chromecast with Google TV

As the name suggests, these Chromecasts run on Google TV, which is an operating system developed by Google itself that has its own interface. You can install apps like Netflix, Disney Plus, and Viaplay. As a result, you can enjoy all the well-known streaming services, but you can also play games or use applications, for example.

You can operate it using the included remote control or voice commands via the Google Assistant. The HD version can stream images with a maximum resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.
