Eight nominations, two awards: Cate Blanchett is one of the most decorated actresses in Oscar history. This year she is one of the favorites in the Best Actress category for her role in it tar. “Er was zeker veel te doen”, zegt Blanchett. “Alleen al het publiek overtuigen dat Lydia Tár is wie ze zegt dat ze is. Dat ze het recht heeft om zo’n groot Duits orkest te leiden en een genie is. Maar de psychologie van het personage was uiteindelijk het uitdagendst”, vertelt de Australische actrice. “Het voelde soms alsof ik Mount Everest aan het beklimmen was.”

The role of Lydia Tarr required a lot of Blanchett’s time. “The preparations started about a year before we shot,” Field says. “At that time, she made two more films. Between recordings, Blanchett constantly worked with a surf music coach, says Marcy. She had to be part of Mahlers Fifth Symphony And it is very difficult to do this.
