Sam Houston State University’s Student Government Association will hold an informational meeting for students to learn about what SGA is, what it does, and the requirements to join. This meeting will be held March 30 at 6 p.m. in room 326 in the Lowman Student Center.
The meeting is designed to inform students of the executive board positions that are open for office as well as answer any questions that they may have concerning the Student Government Association.
There will be refreshments after a brief presentation and a Q&A section of the meeting.
“It is our hope students will come out to learn more about both our organization and ways they can become more involved on university issues,” said SGA President Jacqueline Bolden, “If you are interested in running for an office, stop by our SGA office Lowman Student Center 326 and ask for an application.”
The positions that are open for office are President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Chief of Staff, and Senate seats for all colleges.
The last day to file for a position is on April 3 at 5 p.m. in the SGA office.
There are mandatory meetings for candidates on April 4 and 5 from 5 to 6 p.m. in the office as well. Anyone running for office must have a biography and photo ready by April 5.
