The office of multicultural and international student services is hosting “The Middle Passage” at 2 p.m. in the LSC, room 315, as part of UniDiversity Week.

The event’s purpose is to educate and expose students to the journey that African-Americans took to the United States during slavery. Student Coordinator for the office of MISS, Willie Dean, will facilitate the event.

Dean said, “I felt that many people do not know intricate details of history not told in books.”

Dean coordinated events for students to gain enlightenment and motivation and strive for excellence through seeing what their ancestors have been through.

UniDiversity week began Monday and will continue with events through Friday morning.
