Xiaomi has unveiled the 12S series for the Chinese market. These are the 12S, 12S Pro and 12S Ultra. All three phones are equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 soc processor and an Ultra model that has a 1-inch Sony camera sensor.

The 12S Ultra has a large “camera lens” on the back, which hides a 50MP camera sensor: the Sony IMX989. With this sensor, it is possible to take better photos in dark environments, Xiaomi claims. Other sensors include a telephoto sensor and a wide-angle sensor, both of which are 48MP. The 12S Ultra has a 6.73-inch OLED display and a 120Hz refresh rate. In addition to the fact that the phone has a battery with a capacity of 4860 mAh and can be charged quickly with a maximum of 67 watts, the phone will be the first Android device capable of recording. with Dolby Vision HDR, According to Xiaomi.

The two cheaper models, the 12S and 12S Pro, are similar in appearance to the Xiaomi 12, which will be available in Benelux from March. The Pro’s OLED is the same size as the Ultra. The 12S screen is smaller by about 6.23 inches, and the two phones contain a Sony IMX707 sensor for the primary camera, with a resolution of 50 megapixels.

It is unknown when and if the phones will be launched in Benelux. In the coming months, the 12S series will only be available in China. The 12S Ultra starts at 5,999 yuan (about 859 euros), the 12S Pro is available from 4,699 yuan (673 euros) and the 12S costs at least 3,999 yuan (573 euros).
