Governor Oleh Sinihubov said on Ukrainian television on Friday that an investigation into the non-Russian missiles was underway. “I can already say that the traces of the missiles have been destroyed,” he said. “But what we can see is that Russia is not the country that created them.”
BBC News Earlier in the day it was reported that North Korea might supply Russia with ballistic missiles. US National Security Adviser John Kirby called it a “significant and disturbing escalation” in the conflict.
“We have no information so far that such missiles have been used,” a Ukrainian Air Force spokesman told state media. He says experts will examine the wreckage and only then can confirm or deny that Russia fired North Korean missiles into Ukraine.

According to Kirby, Washington will raise the issue at the UN Security Council. The US will impose additional sanctions on parties involved in the arms trade.
Russia has denied cooperation with North Korea, but the two countries have cordial relations. In September, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un visited Russia to discuss military cooperation with its northern neighbor.
After the White House accused North Korea of exporting missiles, Kim announced that he would increase production of ballistic missiles.
