Having won seven Super Bowls during his 23-year career, it’s safe to say Tom Brady knows a lot about what it takes to play as a quarterback in the NFL. National Football LeagueBrady knows more about playing the position than almost anyone else, which is why it was so interesting to hear what he had to say over the weekend when asked to rank the five best quarterbacks playing in the NFL today.
So who made Brady’s list? Let’s take a look.
1. Patrick Mahomes (Presidents)
2. Josh Allen (Invoices)
3. Lamar Jackson (crows)
4. Joe Burrow (Bengal)
5. Aaron Rodgers (jet planes)
Brady was asked to rank quarterbacks. At Fanatics Festival over the weekendPutting Mahomes at the top is the easy part when making a list like this, so Brady didn’t spend a lot of time talking about the Chiefs quarterback, but he walked through his thought process with the rest of his rankings.
“I think out of all the players I’ve seen, Josh Allen is the one that always impresses me as a player,” Brady said. “And I see Lamar Jackson, who always impresses me as a player.”
After Jackson was named, Brady remained in the AFC North Division, finishing next in his rankings.
“Joe Burrow is really impressive in the way he throws the ball,” Brady said. “He’s another guy who has a great relationship with his teammates.”
Brady then had trouble thinking of a fifth quarterback to include on his list. At that point, Stephen A. Smith, who was interviewing Brady, ruled out Aaron Rodgers, and Brady agreed to have the New York Jets quarterback on his list.
“Sure,” Brady said.
If you look at Brady’s roster, that means the top five quarterbacks all play in the NFL.
During the same event, Peyton Manning was also asked to rank his top five quarterbacks, and his list was very similar to Brady’s with one difference: Instead of Aaron Rodgers, Manning included Justin Herbert in his top five. If you want to know where Manning ranks, You can check it out here..
As for Brady’s list, Herbert is probably the most overlooked, but you could also add Brock Purdy or C.J. Strode to the list instead of Rodgers. The New York Jets quarterback obviously has more career accomplishments than players like Herbert, Purdy or Strode, but he’s also 40 years old and recovering from an Achilles injury, so it’s impossible to know right now if he’ll ever be back to his MVP form.
